Its day one at IAAF World Championship in London, England and our own Joshua Kiprui Cheptegei comes second to win silver medal in 10,000m for men. He came through with a great start blazing it at 26:49:94 behind Britain’s Muhommad Fazah.
In March 2017, at World Cross Country Championship held in Kampala, Cheptegei missed out on winning a gold medal after as he stagled to the finish in the last lap as he suffered a massive stitch during the race. He stabilized and managed to come on the 30th in the race.
This memory lane will be faded away now he is a silver medalist.
21 year old Joshua Cheptegei now has $30,000 (108 million shs) added to his account for coming second in the race.
Other Ugandan athletes in that 10,000m race were Timothy Toroitich who finished 14th and Moses Kurong coming up in 18th position.
Can we create as many memes for Cheptegei's silver as we did 4his "embarrassing finish" at the last IAAF
Success and its many fathers!
