Micho terminates contract with Fufa over unpaid salary

Ugandan head coach Milutin “Micho” Sredojevic has today terminated his contract with FUFA over unpaid salary and allowances mounting to $64,000 (230m Ugandan shillings). Numerous sources since last Saturday reported of how the serbian tactician has resigned but later came out and refuted the claims as “not true”.

Micho has today held a press conference at Kabira country club to confirm his resignation and termination of his contract with federation of uganda football association (Fufa). Serbain stated ” It is a notice of termination due to non-payment of salaries and allowances”

Micho states “It is 50 months today since I signed a contract with FUFA, My employment contract with FUFA has been terminated due to confidentiality clause in my contract”

According to clause 12d of the said contract, When the federation fails to pay the coach for three months, the coach is free to terminate the contract but the federation still has to pay the debt it owes.

Moments to remember……

For the 4 years at cranes, Micho added he remember two dates “I will remember 2 dates 4th September 2016 and 17th January 2018. Special dates for Uganda Cranes and Uganda as a nation”. He went ahead to thank all the captains he’s worked with “Andy Mwesigwa, Geofrey Massa,Dennis Onyango, Tonny Mawejje” and the entire cranes team.

FUFA confirmed receipt of the termination letter from coach Micho, “FUFA would like to thank Mr. Sredojevic for the services rendered to the Uganda Cranes during his time as coach of the National team”.

Micho’s milestone…..

Micho joined Uganda cranes since May 2013 taking over from Bobby Williamson. He signed a two year contract by then which was extended making it 4 years by now. According to reliable statistics, Micho has been in charge of the Cranes for 85 times, winning 51 games, drawing 21 times and losing on 11 occasions.

He made history as he lead Uganda cranes to AFCON finals in Garbon this year since 1978 ending 39 years of wait. Serbian tactician has been an African darling having been in Rwanda, Egypt, Tanzania, South-Africa and Uganda.

Next move……

Micho dismissed rumors of joining a team from Libya as he will communicate his next move earlier on. Most reports points being targeted by South African top side Orlando pirates where he was in 2006.
